Sandrine Dickel

Artist member since 2021
Pro
Toronto, Ontario

Sandrine Dickel's work explores human existence with a focus on femininity. She draw and paint situations of human fragility or doubt. In a project called Fresco, she aimed to capture the evocative intimacies of human figure. These figurative works draw also also from her biographical experiences of the unyielding perspectives of womanhood, of maternity, and sorority. Her works reflects the need to express compassion by freezing a moment from a longer yet unknown story. Her experimental approach includes oil, ink or charcoal on canvas, paper, or Mylar. She integrates photos of private and cultural sources and plays with transparencies to invite the unpressed. She is a french visual artist based in Toronto.
